Why I love taking photos that feature silhouettes

silhouettePhotography is part art and part science. The science part can be mastered by just about anyone, but there are a few special skills that can help us “non-artsy” types take compelling photos.

One of my favorites is taking photos that feature one or more objects in silhouette. And most anything you can think of can be easily silhouetted!

A collection of absolutely awesome wildlife photos

awesome-wildlife-picsI love photography, and I love looking at awesome photographs. I also love sharing them with the world, which is why I created my TodaysPhoto.org photography blog.

Although the vast majority of the images featured on TodaysPhoto.org are landscapes, I also feature animal photos from time to time.

Tips for taking great Fireworks photos

fireworks-smallMost everyone loves photographing fireworks displays, but they can be a little tricky to photograph well. I know that from personal experience because I’ve taken some pretty poor fireworks photos in the past!

In a nutshell, the difference between brilliant, colorful images of exploding magnificence and bland, blown-out snapshots is basically just selecting the right camera settings.

There are other considerations as well which I’ll discuss below, but the most important thing to be aware of are the settings.
