Video: How would you like to do THIS for a living?

crazy-jobThere are so many different ways to make a living out there, and some of them are absolutely mind-blowing.

There are fun jobs. There are exciting jobs. And of course there are boring jobs that make one pray for the work-day to end.

Well, the fellow in the video below has a job that’s about as far from boring as one can get. It surely takes nerves of steel and the ability to constantly focus on the task at hand.

I know I couldn’t do it. Could you?

Like watermelon? Check this out!

watermelon-slicerIn my opinion, there’s nothing better than a nice, cool slice of watermelon at the end of a long, hot summer day.

The sweet, juicy goodness of a ripe melon simply can’t be beat when I need a refreshing respite from the heat.

But as much as I love chowing down on a juicy watermelon, I’m not all that fond of slicing them. They’re slippery, messy, and just plain hard to work with.

As luck would have it, I’ve found this awesome watermelon slicer that makes slicing a melon into uniform slices both fast and easy – and it doesn’t make a mess! Check it out in this short video: [Continue Reading]

Could this be the most amazing “lumberjack” ever?

Our family cut and burned a lot of firewood when I was growing up, and I still burn wood in my fireplace today. I enjoy cutting my own wood now that we have chainsaws, but it’s still a lot of work.

I just ran across a short video demonstration of an amazing “mechanical lumberjack” that would surely make cutting firewood SO much easier.

But I have a feeling that cutting firewood isn’t what this machine was designed for since it automatically cuts the logs into “lumber” lengths.

Check out the video and see what you think: [Continue Reading]

How to repair your damaged windshield for about $10

rainx-windshield-repair-kitA few years back I was following a truck down the interstate when it kicked up a gravel and threw it into my windshield. I heard a loud pop, and sure enough the impact took a nickel-sized chip of glass out of the driver’s side of the windshield.

As you might expect, that little gravel ended up ruining my entire day! I knew I had to have the chip repaired before cracks could start spreading or I’d eventually have to replace the entire windshield – which would cost an arm and a leg!

It ended up costing me almost $100 to have that chipped windshield repaired, but I have since learned that I could have easily repaired it myself for just a few bucks with an inexpensive windshield repair kit. [Continue Reading]

Video: “Four hands – One Guitar”

guitarSome of my favorite childhood memories are of the times when we would all gather around and listen to my dad play his guitar. He loved to pick, and he was quite good at it.

Dad passed on 15 years ago, but I still love hearing a great acoustic guitar solo.

I found this video featuring some great guitar pickin’, but I don’t know if I can actually call it a “solo”. Check it out below and you’ll see what I mean… [Continue Reading]

Hate passwords as much as I do? Check this out!

password-comedyHaving to deal with passwords is one of my least favorite tasks when using the Internet and logging into my many online accounts.

It seems like I’m constantly having to come up with a good password, then try my best to remember it along with the two dozen other passwords that I use every day.

I believe that sometimes a little humor can help us deal with some of life’s most irritating tasks. If you agree, check out this short, but funny comedy routine about passwords from comedian Don Friesen. And don’t worry, unlike most comedy routines, this one is completely “clean”. [Continue Reading]

Video: Check out this amazing “drone tour” of the world’s largest cave

worlds-largest-caveThe world’s largest known cave is Hang Sơn Đoòng, a massive and truly fascinating cavern located in Vietnam near the country’s border with Laos.

This cave is so large that it has its own climate and a couple of small tropical “jungles” that sprang up beneath sink holes that serve as “skylights”. And on top of that, there’s a large river rushing through it.

Suffice it to say that this is one amazing cave, and now you can “explore” it yourself by watching this video that was made by a drone equipped with an awesome GoPro Hero4 Black camera. [Continue Reading]

Video: How to bend PVC pipe without damaging it

bend-pvc-pipeIf you’ve ever worked with PVC pipe you know how easy it is to damage it. If you aren’t extremely careful you can cause it to split or even bust into pieces, especially if it happens to be pretty chilly in the work area.

I was checking out one of my favorite websites today when I saw an awesome video that shows how to actually bend PVC pipe at up to a 45 degree angle without busting or kinking it.

I found the technique both interesting and useful, so I thought I’d share it with you: [Continue Reading]
